The Truth About Honduras

Sun Jul 5, 2009, 4:17 PM
As you may or may not know, Honduras, my small country, is in the middle of a political crisis. Ex-President Manuel Zelaya had intended to do a referendum, AN ILLEGAL REFERENDUM, that would allow him to change the constitution. Congress and the Supreme Court had ruled his actions as illegal and forbid him to carry out with his intentions. Because this man is severely stubborn, he did not back down. His actions led to a nontraditional coup, if you can even call it. He was deported to Costa Rica, safely. This is a man that was following the tyrannical blue prints of His Pestilence Hugo Chavez, except, Manuel Zelaya, did not have the control over the majority of the people and the military. The vast majority of the Honduran Population wishes him out and we are defending our constitution, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW. The OEA seems to be biased, because they did not even bother investigating and find the real facts, instead of simply acting and suspending my Country. The suspension makes no real difference, but the fact that the OEA does not seem to act justly. We do have a President, the three Powers of the Estate remain completely intact.

Zelaya claims that barbarism is spreading in Honduras, if anyone is guilty of it, it's his own followers, who is are allegedly paid to be part of the manifestation and/or we're threatened to lose their jobs if they did not follow his plans.

You might even see in my favorites, Communist art and might even wonder why I do not Support this man. Simple, because he is no communist or socialist. Communism will never exist and all of those Presidents or Dictators, that claims to be socialists, ARE VILE LIARS! If they really followed the socialist principles, they wouldn't have all the privileges they enjoy. Yes, I'm a communist, but I accept that men are too corrupt to ever be a true communist! I believe in democracy and freedom.

The international community fails to understand our true voice and opinion, this is not a matter of being Capitalist or Communist, it's a matter of justice and truth! It has to be for a Leftist, like me, to speak against it! The UN and OEA have disappointed me to the point, I cannot trust them and wish to know nothing of them. Why support this Dictator wanna be, and not act in Iran, when peaceful protestants are being SHOT?! It's HYPOCRISY to sat they're fighting for democracy! All we want is Peace and if indeed, the Ex-President returns, all he will achieve is violent reactions. If he truly cared about his people, he wouldn't return and cease, and he would put a stop to his selfish whims. He claims to be just like any other citizen; a citizen that takes 15 people with him to Cuba, because he wanted to speak with Fidel Castro, who by the way, refused to see him? He spends government money in scuba diving lessons or who even now, with the government's credit card, spends 80,000 DOLLARS on Armani Suits? If that seems like an average worker to you, let me know.

Please OPEN YOUR EYES

Still no one has commented on this?
Honestly, I'd like to feature you and your journal in my journal, if you don't mind?

No, of course I don't mind! I'm very grateful.

That's just shameful. The majority of us Americans have no idea that there's issues down where you are, let alone know the facts. I really wish there was something I could do other than spread the word.

By the way, you you mind if I link back to this in my journal and signature?

This is the suck. I'm sorry for you, and Aspen is right, what most americans know about Honduras is that their underwear is manufactured there, they would never be able to find it on a map and wouldn't give it a thought otherwise.

America has a lot of prejudices against communism because three generations ago we fought with a lot of other communist countries. And you're right, dictators can never be true communists. Communism, on paper, seems like a really great idea, it's just very hard to put it into practice and make it work because it is very dependent on the honor of its people being fair with one another, people like Manuel Zelaya, (not so different from Stalin), however, have no honor and will use the honor of the people for their own personal gain.

I've said this before on similar subjects.

Most people will see what they want see, and damn anyone who tries to tell them otherwise.

It really is a scary thought, that people won't ever learn to open their eyes. But that's humanity for you. Selfish and thoughtless.

Of course, there are good people out there. People who are actually trying to make a difference. People taking action rather than sitting around and complaining about it.

But humans have this sort of mindset where they think, "Oh, it's alright if I don't do anything. The next person will." And so nothing gets done.

It's all so very... disheartening.

The world needs more people like you.

I feel very much for you and your country. I might not know a lot about politics and harships in life, but I do know when someone needs a hand and a hug.
So have one.
I wish you luck, and I commend you for speaking up and doing it so beautifully.

I think that it is horrible what it is happening all over the world. It seems as if so many people and countries all over the world are hurting from corrupted governments and people that just do not care. I considere myself to be a fairly well informed American and have read about this, but it is so much more intense reading about it from the perspective of someone who has lived through this. I just want to let you know that you and your country are in my thoughts and prayers.
